Layoffs are not popular. Not for the ones being lain off, nor for the ones having to lay them off. It is stressful, sometimes traumatic, and in many firms, especially small ones, it creates tension between management and employees. That tension can lead to rifts between employees and become very costly. We offer the service of distancing the two sides of a layoff, we meet with management, and discuss who needs to be let go, then we meet with the employees and take responsibility for letting people go in a respectful manner. This way, the strife will be not between employees and managers, but between the employees and our firm.
